20 and 30 years ago, some European countries were deporting people who engaged in this sort of thing.

Now, in the UK at least, it's considered acceptable.

http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/? ... ZmYzkyMWU=

What a disgusting, cowardly government the UK has.

And I came back to the US to get away from it. Now I wonder if we're next.

The people who could actually stop the monsters who do this are such cowards that they spend all their time exploiting problems that don't exist to expand their legal power over those that would NEVER hurt a little girl like that.

I don't believe for a moment that once they do have the ability to micromanage every aspect of our lives that they will THEN do anything about barbaric practices. No way. They will still be too afraid.

Courage doesn't come from the power you hold in your hand, but the determination and confidence you hold in your heart.

We're just reaching the conclusion of Political Correctness and Multiculturalism. It is wrong to "judge" what anyone or any culture does because all cultures are equal. Except Western Culture because it is evil: it had wars, conquored others, practiced looting and slavery (just never mind that every other civilization in history has done the same, its just that Westerners are dumb enough to feel guilty about it).

Pretty soon there will be only one sin left: deny someone else the right to do what makes them happy at the moment. Already many kids and "youth" believe this, which is one reason they hate Christians and anyone else who tries to hold a higher standard, a standard above the rutting, brawling animal.

Considering that some Islamists on the UK are calling for Sharia law there, not only for themselves but across society, and that people like the Archbishop of Canterbury are A-OK with Sharia law living side by side with English law, I wonder if this woman has considered the possibility that she, or her daughters (if any) might be subjected involuntarily to this procedure sometime in the future.

Or maybe she figures that, like many of the elites in Muslim countries that practice FGM, her family will be exempted.

I guess this shows that New Labour (and its ideological twin in the US, the Dems) is the party that feminists should vote for.

Speaking of things that are disgusting, cowardly and perverse:

http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/57865,new ... anic-rooms

The Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, when threatened by someone trying to smash in his windows, ran, as instructed earlier by his government bodyguards, to his government-provided panic room... leaving his 5-year old granddaughter alone in the house. His govt advisers had told him to leave any family members outside if they could not get in in time.

Fortunately she was OK. But I have to ask what kind of person would leave a small child at the mercy of such an attacker, whatever his handlers had told him?

I also have to ask (rhetorically) what kind of government would insist that potential adult victims of violence hide somewhere while family members are exposed to the attackers RATHER THAN SIMPLY ALLOWING THEM THE MEANS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES.

I guess that government would prefer that children are butchered than allow anything to chip away at their carefully crafted and self-serving notion that regular citizens, no matter who they are, have no right to effective personal self-defense.

Adding to the general disgustingness, CNN reports that he brought his granddaughter with him. Dishonest spin to avoid horrifying US audiences too much, who may be less numbed to such despicable official attitudes than some who live in the EU?

http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/europe/01 ... index.html

No wonder the Islamic extremists feel so empowered to terrorize these poor farm animals, who seem by and large to be voluntarily toothless.

And who, with a sense of moral purpose (even if evilly twisted as in the case of these terrorists) would not feel a sense of disgust and repugnance at contemplating such a society?

:x

Wow. I don't know what part of that story disturbs me the most... but the CNN knowingly lying is right up there. Why protect the coward?

That is disgusting. How much do they think the man would be hurt if he were safe in his panic room while the grandaughter was tortured to death outside while the police took their time coming?

Sounds to me more like they just need to let people have guns again, put this author through an intensive training program and let him fight his way to the panic room if need be. But that's too much like making people independent.

From what I can see, the worst thing these Americans are guilty of is saying that some of the children came from distant relatives rather than the parents who actually gave them up.

And it looks like they were planning to deliver on taking care of the kids and educating them. They were taking them to a known location in the Dominican Republic, a hotel where the project was known and where others from the church were waiting, and talking to the media.

It may come out later that these guys were some kind of horrible organ-harvesting or pedophile ring, but right now there is no hint of that.

Right now this looks like some decent people are being brutalized by the very same murderous, vicious pettiness that has been keeping Haiti poor for centuries.

The same kind of vicious pettiness that leads gangs to loot food and medical supplies from facilities taking care of hungry children.

British scientists have been told they need to pull out of the Cassini mission due to lack of funding.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/spac ... -life.html

I wonder how much money the UK government has poured into "climate research" that could have been spent on Cassini (and other more useful things, like combating chemical pollution) ?

Just tell the politicians intelligent life was found and they'd find all kinds of money to send more probes with offers of citizenship, welfare benefits and the vote.

Another disgusting "zero tolerance" story. In this case, the school administrator in question didn't even follow her district's published guidelines, else this would not have happened.

http://www.thisistrue.com/blog-patrick_ ... s_gun.html

Quote:
Laura Timoney, the boy's mother, agrees: "You don't traumatize a child who loved to go to school, who wanted to be early every day to school, you don't make him cry, you don't make him fill out statements," she said in a TV interview, her eyes filling with tears. "You don't do it."

Yet that is exactly what the school did. It terrorized a child in its care -- for nothing. He was treated as a criminal, made to sign a confession of trumped-up charges, and his spirit destroyed.

Image

This sort of thing is one of many reasons people send their kids to private schools.

In doing so, they save their school districts huge amounts of money, since the parents are still paying taxes (in the US and UK at least). In Philadelphia (as just one example), that savings is $330M yearly from Catholic schools alone.

So sending kids to private schools is "selfish" HOW exactly?

That's like a mugger complaining, after the wallet has already been handed over, that he didn't get a chance to beat the victim up as well.

The weird thing is how many people nod agreeably and applaud when the mugger makes this argument.

I was just about to post the same story, vits. That's what you get with zero tolerance policies, especially when they mix with admins who get their jollies being asses like that.

Reminds me of the kid near here who got suspended for having an unserrated butter knife in his truck bed.

Don't forget also the stories about students being suspended because they DREW a picture of a gun, including those students who had military fathers and they drew their daddy holding a gun.

Funny they'll raise hell over something like this, but let in music glorifying crime, street murder, rape, etc.

I don't believe that safety has too much to do with it.

I think it's more about trying to instill a fear and terror of guns into children from a very early age.

The kids of thugs won't be affected much, if at all, but I think the hope is that the kids from nice reasonable families will learn their "lesson".

After all, we need them to continue putting up with having bullies terrorize and extort homework out of them once they grow up, right?

Otherwise who will keep the lights on in the glorious prison camp, er, I mean Glorious Socialist Paradise these educators are trying to build?
